i probably should not be awake right now. but i've been Pretty Little Liars creeping. Yes I just admitted that I watch that show. And I don't want this season to be over. But thankfully Bones and Fringe are starting up again soon! I'm thankful for my RA Amber and the conversations we've had. She's so sweet and godly, and shares my love for languages, so it's been great to be able to confide in her.
my bike is still locked up, so on tuesday i'll get someone to cut the lock off if possible..also, i slept through my last class on Friday :( So, i'll be making up that in-class paper some time this week.

today I probably broke a Berry rule or two because my friend Elise and I climbed onto the roof of the Ford Music building..don't tell anyone! we went as far up as possible and made it to the highest tower, which unfortunately does not have a bell, but we did have a great view and lots of bird poop. And later we had a salsa, guacamole, and chips party in my room while educating each other on music and telling stories.

I'm excited to visit 3 rivers church again and also to buy a much needed chair to go under my lofted bed.

So, since my last blog, a lot has happened, surprisingly. I learned that I probably have TMJ, a common jaw problem for singers, that can progress to being very painful. So I can't really sing right now. Which is a problem since I'm a vocal performance major. Also, yesterday my bike lock would not come unlocked. So my bike is stuck at the Krannert center (where everything important happens) and I am now walking ev.er.y.where. Which is a problem because I'm a music major and 4/7 of my classes are a mile away from my dorm. Also, I have a rash all over my face. I have no idea how I contracted it, but thankfully it's nothing itchy or super noticeable. However, I'd love for it to go away. So tomorrow I have 5 classes and a doctor's appt to figure that out. And I've called the bike shop and the orthodontist. Woohoo. I'm obviously a little preoccupied with non-school issues right now. So it's difficult to put my thoughts together and feel calm. I've already run out of quarters for the washing machine...We need a bookshelf desperately and a chair since my bed is now lofted.
But enough complaining. The cool thing is that God's been teaching about being "in the world but not of it" lately. There are a lot of people here, unlike at PCA, that have different beliefs than I do and it has been tough trying to relate to them. I've learned that I need to be continually asking God to soften my heart to people I see sinning outwardly, especially if they're not Christians. I need to see them as equal to me, because I sin too, and just because mine isn't outwardly offensive it's still wrong in God's eyes. So if you would, pray that I be loving to all types of people and speak truth when necessary.

I'm off to zumba :)

Somewhere Only We Know- Keane (cover)

My first post!

Well it's a chilly day in September and Berry's campus is bustling with activity. My room mate and I had breakfast together at Chickfila and it was a breath of fresh air compared to normal dhall. Thankfully we got back early for me to finish my piano homework before class. After that I sat in the 3rd floor hallway and scrambled to do my Theory that I had procrastinated on...And barely finished. It's probably half correct and half incorrect. Next time I'll work ahead. Lunch was pancakes with chocolate chips, fruit, and cranberry juice with my friends from my freshman seminar class. Choir is always at 1pm and so fun because our director is hilariously witty and unexpected. He gave a drawn out allegorical speech about the "colors of our voices" and how to be self-aware. In Spanish we're learning about art and how to talk about it in Spanish, which is probably my favorite thing about Spanish- the music, art, poetry, etc etc. Speaking of which, I'm a Spanish song is playing on my ipod right now. Soon I'll attend the Student Involvement Fair and doubtless sign up for too many emails and events and commitments as a I always do. But I'm excited to get overinvolved haha!
 Hasta luego
